On May 14, 1974, Tower of Power went to radio station WLIR in Hempstead, Long Island and played a live-in-the-studio show that set the station ablaze as well as the radios of any listeners that were lucky enough to hear it. Hipper than Hip is that long lost live session that captures TOP at the top of their game.

The East Bay Archive Volume I, produced by David Garibaldi, was recorded in Boston, on April 23, 1973, just weeks before another landmark Tower album would be released. The original recording is part of David’s personal collection of audio tapes of rehearsals and Tower of Power live shows.

Soul icons Tower of Power– known for taking left turns musically, took a bit of a detour and recorded a collection of classic soul tunes entitled the '‘Great American Soulbook’'. Included in their latest release are a dozen Soul Essentials, some utilizing original style arrangements, some with a TOP twist, but all with the distinctive Tower of Power sound. Three additional songs were produced by multiple Grammy award recipient, George Duke.
Guest singers include Sam Moore, Huey Lewis, Sir Tom Jones and Joss Stone.
